As you know from my medical records I have been diagnosed with varicose veins when I was 28 years of age currently I am 47. You also know how I feel about taking prescription drugs and medical procedures.

I have been wearing compression stocking for a long time. The pain and discomfort of my varicose veins and the stockings finally got to me. When first diagnosed almost 20 years ago my doctor recommended not having any procedures done because they were dangerous and painful. Throughout the years the swelling and pain in my leg and the aggravation of the stockings was too much for me to handle anymore.

I started my research on the internet about procedures that could be done, now that medical technology had progressed. I found out about the VNUS closure procedure and decided that this was my route to eliminating my problem. The next step was to investigate whom would do this procedure that I felt would be worthy of my trust. I found many “advertisements” on the internet for doctors in this area and the DC metropolitan area and with success found Dr. Garth Rosenberg of the Capital Vein & Laser Center. They are located in Frederick, MD. But as to my surprise they had recently opened another office in Charlestown, WV.

I went for a consultation and made the decision to have the VNUS closure procedure done. This was the best decision I have made in a long time. Almost immediately the pain was gone. No more swelling, throbbing and skin discoloration. Also, a time later I had a Microphlebectomy.

If you have patients with this malady that Dr. Rosenberg is a choice candidate to send them to. I highly recommend him. Not only were both procedures done successfully, but the overall experience was comforting.

The office staff was congenial. Both offices are warm and inviting. This allows the patient to feel comfortable. Everything was explained and spelled out about both procedures and done in a fashion that it was almost painless. Even my fears were diminished the atmosphere.

I should also note that my daughter of 29 years of age had inherited this condition. She too had a VNUS closure done with great success.

Again, if you have patients that are in pain from varicose veins, you should refer them to Dr. Rosenberg.

Vicky has worn support hosiery since the age of 17 primarily to ease the aching in her legs and to conceal her varicose veins. Vicky has a family history of bad veins: her grandmother and mother both had visible varicose veins and her grandmother was treated with traditional vein stripping. Vicky was concerned about downtime following vein stripping, so she searched for alternative treatments on the Internet.
